Collective Worship
The core of our collective worship learning is based around six values chosen by the children, parents, governors and staff of our school. They are:
Friendship
Respect
Love
Trust
Hope
Thankfulness
These Christian values are at the heart of our school and help us to achieve our REACH vision.
Alongside our Christian values, we have our six important behaviours for learning that also help us to achieve:
Prepared
Persevere
Resilient
Collaborative
Inquisitive
Ambitious
Each half term we focus on a different Christian value and learning behaviour. Every Monday, collective worship is led by a member of staff, one our links with Christ the King church or our very own children (REACH Ambassadors and House Captains).
On Tuesdays (KS2) and Wednesdays (KS1), collective worship sees children participate in singing a variety of songs, including Christian hymns, together.
In addition, children participate in class collective worhsip on the days they don't come together collectively as a Key Stage.
We end the week with a celebratory collective worship where parents are invited to watch their children receive their Star of the Week and REACH certificates.
An example of our Collective Worship half termly plans
Each half term, we have a different Christian Value and learning behaviour focus for Collective Worship (both together as a Key Stage and in class). We explore our focussed themes in a variety of ways, led by a member of staff, our links from Christ the King or by our very own House Captains and REACH Ambassadors! Each Friday, we celebrate our achievements with 'Star of the Week' and 'REACH' certificates - parents are invited to join our celebration too!
