School Uniform
School Dress Code
At Battyeford we believe that children should follow our school dress code, wearing a uniform promotes a feeling of community and sense of belonging.
Pupils are expected to wear uniform consisting of grey/black trousers, grey/black skirt or tailored shorts and our school sweatshirt or cardigan with a white polo shirt underneath. Key stage 2 children have the option of wearing a school shirt and tie. In summer girls can wear blue and white summer dresses.
Footwear
We expect that all children will wear suitable flat footwear, plain dark coloured shoes or black trainers. High heeled footwear, flip flops and flimsy sandals are not allowed for health and safety reasons as they are not suitable for outdoor play.
Personal Appearance
Make-up and nail varnish are not allowed in school, extreme haircuts, styles and colouring are also not allowed.
Jewellery
Earrings can be worn but only one per ear and of the stud variety; these must be removed by the child for PE and swimming. On occasions, if earrings cannot be removed, ears will be taped for safety. Wrist watches may be worn and removed for PE. No other jewellery should be worn unless it has a religious significance.
PE Uniform
Children for indoor PE will need a white T shirt, black shorts and black pumps. Long hair for all children needs to be tied back.
A tracksuit and trainers is required for outdoor games.
Year 5 only
Swimwear and swimming cap - swimming costume / trunks (bikinis and swim shorts are not allowed) & a swimming cap is required
