School Uniform
School Dress Code
At Battyeford we believe that children should follow our school dress code at all times, wearing a uniform promotes a feeling of community and sense of belonging.
Pupils are expected to wear uniform consisting of grey/black trousers, grey/black skirt or tailored shorts and our school sweatshirt or cardigan with a white polo shirt underneath. Key stage 2 children have the option of wearing a school shirt and tie. In summer, blue and white summer dresses can be worn.
Socks are to be plain and black, grey or white in colour.

Footwear
All children will wear suitable flat footwear, plain dark coloured shoes, boots or black trainers. High heeled footwear, flip flops and flimsy sandals are not allowed for health and safety reasons as they are not suitable for outdoor play.
Personal Appearance
Make-up, nail varnish, false nails and eyelash extensions are not permitted to be worn for school. Fake tattoos, inncluding glitter tattoos are also not permitted.
Hair which is long enough to be tied back must be tied back. Hair accessories must be minimal and in keeping with school uniform colours or neutral.
No extreme hairstyles or cuts including colour and shaved patterns.
Jewellery
Earrings can be worn but only one per ear and of the stud variety; these must be removed by the child for PE and swimming. On occasions, if earrings cannot be removed, ears will be taped for safety. Wrist watches may be worn and removed for PE. No other jewellery should be worn unless it has a religious significance.
PE Uniform
Children for indoor PE will need a white T shirt, black shorts and black pumps. These must be a plain as possible with no large branding or slogans.
A tracksuit and trainers is required for outdoor games.
Year 5 only
Swimwear and swimming cap - swimming costume / trunks (bikinis and swim shorts are not allowed) & a swimming cap is required
ITEMS OF UNIFORM ARE AVAILABLE FROM RAWCLIFFES IN DEWSBURY. There is a price list attached.
In order to ensuure any items of clothing is returned, it is essential that items are named clearly.
